Maranga archaelogical complex
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
Maranga's complejo arqueológico, a huge archaeological site (400ha), is home to numerous pyramids and vestiges whose varied architecture bears witness to the variety of cultures that inhabited Lima prior to the arrival of the Spaniards. One after the other, starting with the Maranga-Lima, then Huari, Ichimay and finally the Incas built and adapted their predecessors' structures. Among the largest (and the oldest) are the huacas San Marcos andConcha, easily visible from the Parque Las Leyendas.
