The Michelin Guide's review
Puruchuco, built out of adobe, is the former residence or palace of a pre-Incan curaca (official) stands on a hillside some 10 kilometres from the centre of Lima. It was modified under the Incas, when it was probably a government office or perhaps even the treasury, judging by the results of the excavations. It is one of the rare, if not the only site in the vicinity of Lima that is home to such an extensive collection of Inca constructions.
