Museo Andrés del Castillo
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
The Museo Andrés del Castillo was created in 2008 in a handsome Republican abode. In addition to a mineral collection, it contains one of the finest collections of Chancay ceramics (900-1500) visible in Peru. The large earthenware jars painted black or white on a brown background are adorned with stout little figures, characteristic of this style. There are also countless zoomorphic decors depicting graceful animals such as fish, pelicans, a parrot on a corncob and a bitch suckling her puppies, etc.
