The Michelin Guide's review
Formed of a procession of domes and volcanic peaks, called "sucs", the Mézenc massif draws the line between the waters of the Mediterranean and the Atlantic. It has two radically different faces: it is steep in the direction of the Rhône; on the Auvergne side it proffers vast expanses of bare, windswept land, favourable terrain for pastures. En route to the summit, Mt Mézenc, you can look forward to breathtaking panoramic views, with a glimpse of the Alps in the distance.
