This museum houses a remarkable collection of sculpture and other objects, many collected at the behest of King Wilhelm I, who sent experts in search of items to all four corners of the planet. As a result, exhibits on display come from all the continents with the exception of Europe. The museum hosts exhibitions and its surrounding garden displays contemporary sculpture by non-Western artists.
