The Michelin Guide's review
The "coast of two lovers" - what an evocative name! According to legend, the king of Pîtres decided to give his daughter, Calliste, in marriage to the man strong enough to carry her to the top of the steep, wooded coast. Raoul tried, but died at the end of the journey, dropping his beloved, who also died by his side. A 17C lodge stands on the site of the priory built by the king in memory of the lovers. It commands a view over the meanders of the Seine and the valley.
