Beara Peninsula

The Michelin Guide's review
Less affected by tourism than its neighbours in Kerry, the Beara peninsula has some of the wildest and most beautiful landscape in southwest Ireland. The Caha Mountains run across the peninsula from east to west, reaching an altitude of just 700m at Hungry Hill, their highest point. The peninsula is dotted with lakes, which give it an almost Alpine feel in places, while its rocky, indented coastline is bordered by meadows.
