After nearly becoming extinct, the sea turtles are starting to return to Polihua to nest-if you do see them, please remember to keep your distance. Forget about swimming here-the waters are too dangerous-but the wild, rugged character of the beach, with its crashing surf and solitude, is worth the drive to Lanai's north coast.
