The Michelin Guide's review
The Benedictine Abbey of Lambach, founded in the 11C, but greatly transformed during the Baroque era, boasts Byzantine-inspired Romanesque frescoes that are unique in Austria. The library, refectory and covered walk have the most outstanding stuccowork and frescoes. Also note the Small Theatre (Kleines Theater), filled with history, and the only surviving abbey theatre in Austria.
