The Michelin Guide's review
Lake Louise, a beautiful glacier-fed lake, is set in one of the most iconic sites of the Rockies. Visible at the far end, Victoria Glacier once stretched to the Château Lake Louise hotel. When the glacier retreated, it created a huge morainal dam that led to the formation of the lake. In summertime, the fine powdery silt suspended in the water refracts the sunlight and emits hues ranging from bluish-green to emerald depending on the luminosity.
