The Michelin Guide's review
Previously connected to the old Tacón theatre built in 1837, the present building was completed in the early 20C. Recently renovated, the superb neo-Baroque façade has rediscovered its former glory: its decor of numerous white marble balustrades, statues and sculptures combine to create a fine example of Belle Époque architecture. Its interior has also rediscovered its full glory, in particular the Italianate main auditorium. The fine marble staircase, surrounded by a beautiful mosaic, is the epitome of elegance.
