The Michelin Guide's review
Although still fairly upmarket, the residential Vedado district, laid out in the Belle Époque period, has suffered like the rest of the city. In contrast, the avenue leading to the district, La Rampa, is completely different in feel: this busy, noisy avenue is lined with architecture from the 1960s and 1970s, when it acted as the modern face of the city. It's now home to airline companies, travel agencies, banks, night clubs and large tourist restaurants.
