The Michelin Guide's review
This Zen temple was built over 1 000 years ago. It is laid out according to the traditional model of Chinese Buddhist temples, with the laughing Buddha Maitreya flanked by Weituo, his acolyte, and accompanied by the four guardians of the four directions. The temple consists of various pavilions and courtyards, including an octagonal pavilion built on the water and housing a Guanyin with a thousand arms. A thin, white building - the last in the complex - houses a gilded Buddha given to the temple by Thailand.
