The Michelin Guide's review
This museum exhibits the masters of Polish painting from the Age of Enlightenment to the late 19C. Must-sees: Jozef Chelmonski's famous panoramic Four in Hand (1881), a carriage drawn by four galloping horses that give the impression of bearing down upon you; Wladyslaw Podkowinski's work of Symbolism, Frenzy (depicting a naked woman on horseback), which whipped up a storm in 1894. Also large-format historical frescoes by Henryk Siemiradzki and giant formats by Jan Matejko.
