The Michelin Guide's review
Like a miraculous island in a sea of concrete, this monastery founded by Bishop Iwo Odrowąż of Krakow is a rare surviving vestige of the old village of Mogila. Behind its Baroque façade is one of the country's oldest Gothic churches. Don't miss the Holy Cross chapel housing the much venerated Cross of Mogila (worshippers circle the altar on which it stands on their kness), and frescoes by Stanislaw Samostrzelnik, a 16C monk-artist.
