The Michelin Guide's review
In the heart of the Jewish district of Kazimierz, the oldest Jewish edifice remaining in Poland was built at the very start of the 15C in the Gothic style, then altered in the Renaissance style by Italian architect Mateo Gucci. During renovation works, begun in the early 20C, a 16C level was unearthed, which explains why it is lower than the current street level. Today it houses the Judaic section of the city's History Museum dedicated to the history of Kraków's Jews.
