The Michelin Guide's review
This church, designed to be the biggest in the country, was financed by funds made available from silver mines and was finished in 1761. It is laid out in a cross formation but the Baroque interior is arranged as if the building was rectangular. The altar stands in the middle of one of the long arms of the transept, with the pulpit and organ placed directly above. Among the decorations worth noting are the three enormous centre lights and highly valuable silver objects, including a casket and a wine pitcher from the earlier church.
