The Michelin Guide's review
This unusual chapel owes its name to a legend according to which the Virgin is said to have appeared to pirates who had stolen her icon and persuaded them to return it. According to another version, the crooks are said to have drowned in a shipwreck, while the icon floated to safety to the shingle beach where the chapel now stands. The central nave is the oldest (1515), the others dating from the 17C and 18C. The structure is home to the oldest organ of Dalmatia.
