The Michelin Guide's review
This cable-stayed bridge to the north of the Kuju Mountains is 390m/963ft long and a record height of 173m/427ft. It offers a grandiose view of the massive Shindo-no-taki waterfall and the wooded Kyusui-kei valley. The weight and movement of walkers and the changing direction and strength of the wind mean that the delicate fretwork of cables and the walkway itself are constantly buffeted, so the bridge is rarely still. To be avoided by those with vertigo or a weak heart!
