  The Michelin Guide's review
Even in a state of ruin, the architectural beauty of this early 17C palace is still striking. It was built by Patrick Stewart, count of the Orkneys, who died in 1615. Built from 1600-1607, the palace is an example of the late Renaissance style. Inside is a broad stone staircase that leads to the main hall and other major rooms (descriptions and explanations in all the rooms).
