The Michelin Guide's review
This magical beach in Wester Ross, northern Scotland, is only accessible on foot. The track leads from Blairmore (15km round trip) through an austere landscape typical of the Highlands; peat bogs, lochans, heathery hillsides grazed by sheep... Eventually a vast beach comes into view, between a loch and the sea, surrounded by multi-hued cliffs. This is an idyllic spot, especially on weekdays or out of season, when visitors are rare. The only downside is that swimming is too dangerous on account of the strong currents.
