The Michelin Guide's review
The largest of the three Aran islands (12.8km by 3.2km) is famous for its drystone walls, built with stones dug out of the soil so that it could be farmed. They protect the crops from the strong salty winds off the Atlantic. Visitors land at Kilronan port and can explore the countryside and sites by bicycle.
