The Michelin Guide's review
Due to its strategic position, this castle overlooked the road that led to Loch Awe to the north. This 16C building is remarkable on account of its Renaissance-influenced shape. From 1566 to 1572, Carnasserie was the seat of the superintendant and bishop John Carswell. Later on, the castle belonged to the Campbell family.
