Religious monument
The Michelin Guide's review
St Canice's Cathedral stands on a hillock that may have been the site of a church founded by St Canice. It was built in the 13C in English Gothic style and has been restored many times. You will be struck by the majesty of the nave, separated by an impressive vaulted crossing with cut-limestone ribs. The cathedral contains several tombstones, the most remarkable of which is a 16C recumbent figure in black Kilkenny stone.
