The Michelin Guide's review
This rugged peninsula promises spectacular panoramic views. For walkers, Sheep's Head Way is an 88km-itinerary that forms a loop starting at Bantry; it is not difficult, and you can opt to do just one section. By car, from Durrus, the road runs close to the water, taking in the charming port of Ahakista and the village of Kilcrohane. After a succession of corries, you arrive at Sheep's Head, with its craggy rocks and windswept moor - spectacular in heavy weather.
