The Michelin Guide's review
Located 200m above the Mekong and affording unforgettable views of the river, Pha Taem National Park is home to a number of works of prehistoric art. These superb dark red paintings adorn the walls overlooking the water and illustrate scenes of daily life. They have resulted in the park being awarded the official title of a "painted cliff". To round off the scene, erosion has also played its part, sculpting the rocks into unique mushroom shapes.
