The Michelin Guide's review
The peninsula of Kanoni is named after a battery of cannons abandoned here by Napoleon's troops. It was here that the first city of Corcyra was founded: housing was on the western slope, the sanctuaries on the eastern side. From Kanoni there is a view down onto Vlachernas Monastery, on the lagoon, and the island of Pondikonissi, which is accessible by boat and home to the Pantokrator Church. Come at sunrise to catch the light at its loveliest.
