The Michelin Guide's review
Kampong Trach Caves were naturally dug into the massive karst plains, between the cave's namesake town and the railway line. Several of these caves, ideal for meditation, have become Buddhist shrines over the years. The main one lies within the walls of Wat Kiriseila: to the rear of the pagoda's courtyard, a trail through the rocks leads to a strange open-air, circular room, formerly a cave, whose ceiling collapsed millions of years ago.
