Levens Hall and Gardens
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
Levens Hall is an Elizabethan stately home with a 13C tower. The great hall, with its oak panelling and decorated ceiling, give a foretaste of the engravings and stuccoes in the other rooms. There are some fine Charles II walnut chairs in the dining room, which was hung with Cordoba leather in 1692. The topiary gardens designed in 1694 by Guillaume Beaumont are stunning.
