The Michelin Guide's review
A collection of fabric dolls makes up the striking, almost unsettling universe of Atae Yuki. This talented artist, born in 1937, manages to endow his figurines with particularly expressive and lifelike faces. To such an extent that the dolls never tell us anything about themselves, but rather engage a dialogue with the onlooker. Their expressions are reminiscent of the geometrical huis clos of sentiments of the faces shot by the camera objective of Ozu.
