The Michelin Guide's review
Covered in a thick carpet of azaleas and cherry trees in springtime, Mount Kagami is 284 metres high. An observation platform at the top commands a stunning view of Karatsu Bay, the islands of Takeshima, Kashiwa and Oki. A ten-minute walk away, a statue of Princess Sayo stands on a rock facing the Genkai Sea. According to legend, the beautiful princess was turned to stone because of too much praying for her beloved, General Otomo who was fighting the war in Korea.
