The fruit of a collaboration between architect Nishizawa Ryue and artist Naito Rei, this museum is in itself a fully-fledged work of art. It resembles a water droplet, a shell lying flat, between the sea and the terraced rice paddies. Two huge openings let in the wind and light from outside. The ground and the walls are bare and soft. Drops of water spring up, join, separate, accelerate. All your senses will be heightened. Nice café in the neighbouring "droplet".
