The Michelin Guide's review
Like a fortified castle, this monastery stands on a rock, which is separated from the mountain by a ravine spanned by a stone bridge. Agios Stefanos was built on the site of a 12C hermitage and today houses a convent. It has two churches: one from the 15C and the other from the late 18C. In the refectory, splendid icons (16C-19C), a 6C manuscript, a letter from the patriarch of Constantinople (16C), censers and priests' vestments are displayed.
