Kiawah Island
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
This island is named after the Native American Kiawah tribe who hunted and fished here for hundreds of years before the arrival of the first Europeans. The island's (84mi²/220km²) scenery is stunning, ranging from maritime forests and pristine marshes, without forgetting the 10mi/16km-long paradisiacal sandy beach, ideal to relax and chill. There is no lack of hotel accommodation, including the luxurious waterfront "Sanctuary" resort hotel.
