The Michelin Guide's review
Set in Jasper National Park, this scenic valley, one of the most beautiful in the Rockies, cradles a magnificent lake and canyon, both called Maligne, which can translate as "evil". During the fur trade era, the trappers called it thus because of the treacherous river currents it creates when it joins the Athabasca on leaving the gorges.
