The Michelin Guide's review
This mountain range (3 368m/11 047ft) was named after an English nurse executed by the Germans for assisting Allied prisoners of war during the First World War. An easy trail follows the bed of the Astoria river, overlooked by Mt Edith Cavell and the Ghost and Angel glaciers. It ends at a spectacular viewpoint over the entire valley, from Lake Cavell, with its beautiful emerald-green water, to the Cavell glacial lake, littered with blocks of ice.
