The Michelin Guide's review
A line of pinisi is moored along the quayside of Sunda Kelapa, formerly a stopping point on the Spice Route: wood arrives from Sumatra and Kalimantan on these traditional multi-coloured slim-bowed sailing boats. The wood's unloading triggers frenetic activity as the cargo is carried up narrow beams forming improvised gangways. At the end of the wharf, a lively and picturesque fish market is located in a kampung (working class neighbourhood) (access by boat). Best before 5am.
