The Michelin Guide's review
The Galta temples, about a dozen temples built in the 18C, stand in the wild setting of a narrow, picturesque gorge that is populated by macaque monkeys. Remember to remove your shoes before entering the temples! A spring said to possess miraculous qualities surges out of a rock shaped like the mouth of a cow (gomukh). The spring never seems to run dry and the peaceful valley is nearly always green. A pious ascetic by the name of Galtav is said to have meditated in the valley at the beginning of the Christian era.
