The Michelin Guide's review
This museum has a remarkable collection of early Christian and medieval stones including the Celtic Cross of St John (8C). These early Christian works of art date back to between 563 and the second half of the 12C. Also on show are specimens from the sculpture school of Iona (14-15C), with funerary stones, effigies and crosses. Some of the gravestones depict human shapes and characteristic Highland galleys.
