The Michelin Guide's review
In 1921 this Victorian building was the location for the first meeting of the Council of Ministers outside of London. The market cross at the base encloses the Clach-na-Cuddain (bucket stone) where women carrying water who worked on the banks ofLoch Ness would sit their buckets for a rest. The saying goes that while the stone is there, Inverness will flourish.
