The Michelin Guide's review
A narrow hairpin road winds its way between huge rocky screes up to Mamore Gap, the pass to the north of Inishowen. A white-painted Virgin Mary at the top of the pass fends off the rain, offering meagre shelter to passers-by. The sea view on the way down is magnificent. The road continues as far as Carndonagh, whose main claim to fame is the country's oldest (8C) Celtic cross.
