The Michelin Guide's review
A 20mi drive from downtown Kansas City, the Truman Museum—reopened in 2001 after a $22.5 million renovation—tells the story of the plain-speaking haberdasher whose terms in office (1945-53) were a bridge between World War II and the Korean War. A 45mi documentary film introduces the man. Documents and artifacts chronicle Truman's life, and an interactive theater allows visitors their input in the most important decisions of the Truman Presidency.
