The Michelin Guide's review
Jbel Toubkal (4 167m) is the highest summit in North Africa. The bravest - and most experienced - can scale its dark and austere granite slopes, starting from Imlil. The hike takes more than 15hr in all. But the magnificent panoramic view is definitely worth the effort: you will see the highest peaks of the regions of Goundafa (to the west) and Glaoua (to the northeast), Marrakesh to the north, and the whole of the south, dominated by the pyramid-like summit of Jbel Sirwa.
