The Michelin Guide's review
This vast estate, the family home of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, is one of the most important historical sites in the Hudson Valley. Springwood offers a highly personal insight into the life of the president and his family. Born at Springwood in 1882, Roosevelt brought his bride, Eleanor, here in 1905, and launched his political career soon after. He extended the house over the years, adding the wings visible today. The couple are buried in the rose garden. The museum charts the statesman's career.
