The Michelin Guide's review
This monastery occupies an idyllic site on a headland overlooking the sea. Built from 1465, only two monks still live here. Its museum boasts some amazing works such as a fresco of the Last Supper (17C). Take a stroll around the enchanting garden and admire the 400-year-old cypress trees. In the church don't miss the extravagant Baroque rood-screen, the stone rood-screen in the side chapel, a Crucifixion by Bassano from the early 17C, and the painting of the Stigmata of St Francis by Palma the Younger.
