Byzantine Fresco Chapel
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
In 1983, the Menil Foundation acquired two 13C frescoes from a Cypriot chapel with the intention of restoring them to the original purpose. The panels were restored in the U.S., then hung in the steel and glass Byzantine Fresco Chapel in 1997. In 2012, they were returned to their country of origin. Since March 2015, the chapel showcases an installation by Janet Cardiff and George Bures Miller, the first of a series, commissioned specifically for the building.
