The Michelin Guide's review
This remarkable open-air museum, covering some 80 hectares, contains 16C-19C buildings from nearly all the cantons of Switzerland, grouped according to their geographic origin. The aim is to preserve the original furniture and maintain traditional crafts including mountain cheese making, resin collection and so on. Visitors are also invited to take part, should they wish! The paths of the estate, dotted with picnic areas and enclosures for domestic animals, link the houses.
