The Michelin Guide's review
The Literature Museum, devoted to Japanese philosopher Watsuji Tetsuro (1889-1960), also highlights eight other famous writers from the region, among whom novelist Shiba Ryotaro. Most of the museum's exhibits are in Japanese but interactive video screens in English do facilitate understanding. Admire the edifice, by Ando Tadao, itself, depicted by minimalist curves, linear footbridges over pools of water and light and shadow plays... The terraces command a splendid view of Himeji Castle, 500m/546yds to the east.
