The Michelin Guide's review
Destroyed during the Second World War, the Church of St Andreas was rebuilt incorporating the western section of the Romanesque church that had originally stood here. Note the façade, the clear architectural style of which is striking. The bell tower, 114m high, is the tallest in Lower Saxony, and is a prominent feature on the town's skyline. The organ by organ-builder Rudolf von Beckerath (1966) is one of the largest in Northern Germany (4 734 pipes).
