The Michelin Guide's review
Adjacent to the East side of the station, the Finnish National Theatre, unmistakable with its red roof, resembles at first sight a massive castle: built in 1901 by Tarjanne, it expresses the spirit of National Romanticism that reigned at that time. A statue of Aleksis Kivi, author of Seven Brothers (1870), the first major novel in Finnish, stands in front of the theatre.
